Since graduating from Limerick University in 2001 with a degree in computer science, Eric has stormed through the business world. It is a journey that has taken him from graduate project manager at Snowdrop Systems, to Associate Director of interior design and fit-out agency, 3Sphere. He’s worked with clients ranging from Pret a Manger and the Eden Project to Hiscox Insurance and even managed projects for his old employer, Sage UK. To boot he is also a certified Prince2 practitioner.

It’s fair to say that as a work colleague Eric is an all-rounder. He’ll take large and complex projects to their zenith, but he also makes the time for a calming coffee to help colleagues through difficult decisions and stressful moments. Eric is supportive, innovative, hard-working and one of those rare combinations of strategist and ‘doer’.

Eric also has strong technical abilities, proven by his BSc in computing, and years of managing complex IT installations. His technical skills include: detailed knowledge of software design and programming; reporting from SQL databases; and software consultancy.

But Eric is perhaps best known for his innovation. Never comfortable with the status quo, Eric has built a reputation on redesigning internal processes and systems. And it was just this attitude that led him to the position of Associate Director at 3Sphere. Here Eric was directly responsible for taking commercial interior designs from concept through to completion, with clients such as Tribal Group Plc and DC Advisory Partners. His work at 3Sphere also included the management and implementation of the IT infrastructure for the company.

As business consultant for 2nd Head, Eric applies his management and strategic skills to all kinds of situations. He works with businesses to improve their understanding of the market they work in, analyses business strategy, and provides the structure to help businesses grow. And he does this in industries ranging from large format print to biometrics and expenses.

Eric says: “When I moved from software project management to building office interiors (back in 2008), I had moments where I felt well and truly outside my comfort zone. After all, software systems are miles apart from soft furnishings. But I gradually realised that my core planning and management skills can be applied to anything. Moreover, I’m at my best when I’m being challenged and I enjoy making a positive difference with the businesses I am involved in.”

My aim is to listen and learn from the people I’m working with and help them to see their business problems from a different perspective. I like to build solid working relationships with clients and use both sustainable technology and people-centric platforms to move businesses forward.”
